Get Behind the Scenes

Thank you for your support of the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship! Volunteering is a great way to get a behind-the-scenes look at a world-class professional sporting event. The tournament needs roughly 400 volunteers throughout the week in a variety of committees and positions, many of which are available for volunteers of all ages. 

We hope to see you on the course in March!

The FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship will take place at Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, CA March 18 - 24, 2024. 

We welcome approximately 400 volunteers to facilitate the event. Responsibilities range from marshals to hospitality to special events and assisting fans. Youth volunteer opportunities are also available. 

What's included in my registration?

The volunteer package includes:


  • One (1) official tournament golf shirt
  • One (1) official tournament visor or hat
  • One (1) official volunteer credential, valid for grounds and parking access all week
  • Two (2) complimentary weekly grounds passes and complimentary meals during scheduled shifts.
  • Volunteers are required to cover the cost of the volunteer package for a fee of $55. Volunteers who serve throughout the week will receive an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party. 

Available Committees


Volunteers are encouraged to work at least three shifts in one of the following committees during Tournament Week. Committee and shift selections can be made on the Volunteer registration form at the time of registration. Volunteer shifts vary by committee, but typically last four to six hours per shift. Admissions/Will Call

 Oversee ticket collections, pick-up and sales at the main gate. Will also provide general tournament information, pairings guides and programs to tournaments guests and spectators. (Thursday - Sunday)

Caddie Services

Distribute and gather caddie bibs and towels, register professionals' caddies and manage caddie tent


Golf Carts

Oversee the check-out (am) and check-in (pm) process of all tournament use golf carts.


Hospitality

Check credentials, distribute wristbands, and provide general assistance at all hospitality locations (Thursday - Sunday)


Marshals

Provide crowd control and enforce golf etiquette among spectators (Wednesday - Sunday)


Practice Range

Manage practice ball supply and player ID signs on practice range

Pro-Am Operations

Assist in Pro-Am registration, gift bag process and distributing of picture frames to amateur players (Wednesday only)

Scoring Control

Assist in the management of the LPGA's scoring system in scoring trailer (Wednesday - Sunday)

Shuttles

Assist with transporting LPGA players and other designated personnel to and from the driving range


Standard Bearers

Walk all 18 holes with group of players while carrying standard (sign) and updating with players' scores (requires the ability to walk 18 holes, and lift and carry 20 pounds). Shift will last the length of a round, start times will vary depending on assignment.


Television

Assist Golf Channel staff in production of telecast (Thursday - Sunday only, must be able to walk 18 holes and have general knowledge of golf etiquette and scoring)


Volunteer Services 

Manage uniform distribution; staff volunteer center during Tournament week

Walking Scorers

Record the scores and statistics of play on handheld devices during all competition rounds. Ensure that the standard bearer displays each player's correct scoring information. Essential to have knowledge of golf, golf etiquette, and be in good physical condition with the ability to walk 18 holes at a pace to keep up with the players. Volunteers with previous walking scorer experience will be given priority. Mandatory training for all Walking Scorers. New Scorers will be asked to score during the Pro Am on Wednesday, March 20th. Walking Scorers are asked to work at least one weekday shift and preferably 2.

What does it cost to volunteer?

The Standard Volunteer Package fee is $55.00, which includes one (1) official tournament golf shirt, one (1) official tournament visor or hat, one (1) official volunteer credential, valid for grounds and parking access all week, two (2) complimentary weekly grounds passes and complimentary meals during scheduled shifts.

When are volunteers needed?

Volunteers are needed across a variety of committees for the entirety of the week, March 18 - 24.

How many days do I have to volunteer and how many hours?

Volunteers are encouraged to work at least three (3) shifts over the course of Tournament Week. Shifts typically last between 4-6 hours. Days and times may vary depending on the specific committee responsibilities.

Can my children volunteer? What is the age requirement?

Yes, children 13+ can volunteer alone on any of our youth committees. Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult. If you have a youth activity group of any kind interested in volunteering together, please reach out to Payton Enzbrenner at penzbrenner@outlyr.com.
